Curlipops 1 1/4" Ceramic Curling Wand | Review

Hey Hey Everybody!!

So recently I had to bite the bullet and get a new curling 
wand with a bigger barrel since my hair is longer now and I don't
 always have an hour + to invest in curling my hair. 

I browsed the Ulta website a bit, read some reviews, and decided

this was the 1 for me...

I've used it a few times so far and figured I'd share my thoughts

with ya'll.

This is the Bed Head Curlipops 1 1/4" Curling Wand

it retails for $29.99 and can be found HERE

So... What do I think??

Well, at first glance once I got home with it I

was a little annoyed when I discovered it doesn't have

a temperature control.  My own mistake for not

inspecting it better...  Still annoying though.

It claims to heat up to 400 degrees- I'm curious how long

you have to let it marinate in order for it to reach that temp 
because it definitely doesn't seem as hot as my Conair wand

that I usually use on 400... So.. There's that.

Obviously the curls are much looser with this; 

which I don't mind and did expect.

But I also have found that the curls don't last all day

where as with my other wand they'll last DAYS. 

Yes, days, plural... Dry shampoo is my bff.

So.  My thoughts?  I don't hate it.
I kind of wish I had just gotten the 1" though since my hair
isn't extremely long.  I am curious why the curl falls out so fast though.
Not sure if it's to do with the iron itself or the size.
I really like the style and look it gives once I've done
my whole head.  

Overall- I guess I'll keep it.  I like the curl/ wave style it 
gives I just wish it would last better.
While I still love my smaller Conair wand I would totally recommend
this 1 by Bed Head to someone who wants to curl quickly and run.
I think the loose wave look is super cute and "in" right now.

High End Makeup | Is It Worth It?

Hey Hey Everybody!  
Hope you're all having a fabulous & frisky Friday!

I get a lot of messages on social media & even asked in
person about my makeup.

A lot of people assume I am using extremely expensive products 
to achieve "glam" looks or even my everyday look.

So I am here ladies and gents to give you all the run down and break

the glorious news that majority of my favorite items are drugstore

goodies that are super affordable.

So what are the items I will splurge on???

I am here to tell ya'll!

While I love makeup- there's a limited group of items that
I will splurge on.  

$30 mascaras are not a part of my journey.

Neither are $30+ lipsticks.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some of these items
aren't great I just feel you generally get the same result and there's 
more affordable options for these products. 

Things I will splurge on: 
eyeshadows, blush,
highlighters, facial sprays,

contour powders/ creams, skin care,
and a limited amount of

lip products. 

The reason I will splurge on these items is simply because

I don't think any drugstore brands have items in these categories

that compare to the quality of their higher end counterparts.

 Simple as that!

It's tragically not

I love the intense tingle/ chilly feeling.  
Strangely it can soothe my anxiety

(I think it's the pepperminty smell) and will even help

Or I could be hallucinating all of those things to justify my
 love for this product..  
I feel confident that the above is true though.

Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

So today I want to share, you guessed, my drugstore favorites!You're shocked aren't you?These are all products I own and truly love & pretty much believe my life can't go on without.Just wanted to point out that I didn't throw together a random list of affordable products, I own them all and it just happens to be a plus that they're on the more affordable side. :-)Some are cult classics and others are what I consider hidden gems.

1. Rimmel Lip Liner in "Eastend Snob"

A true love of mine.  It's just the perfect "your lips but better" color.

The staying power, YALL, amazing.. 

2. ColourPop Liquid Lipstick in "Clueless"

This isn't technically a "drugstore" product but it's at a drug store price point.

A near perfect dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills "Dusty Rose", it's super gorgeous

and great all year round!

3. Garnier BB Cream for Oily to Combo Skin

just the dear dear love of my life.

I have the light/medium & the medium/deep- love them both.

4. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I'm not a huge fan of using brushes to blend liquids.

I just feel like total Betty Crocker aka the dreaded cake face queen.

So this is my go to.  BB creams, concealer, all those liquids!

5. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I've heard this is a good dupe for the Nars concealer.  

Can't speak on that myself; however, I do love this stuff. 

I own a few shades and haven't been disappointed yet.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in "Iced Latte"

TOTAL DUPE ALERT... Stila Kitten!

Hello, best dupe ever.. Like ever..

I own this & the Stila and honestly some days this is more pigmented!

So gorgeous all over the lid.

7. Neutrogena Shine Control Powder

Amazing. Done. Go get it.

I've tried other setting powders but this is my old faithful that I keep going back to.

It's like a man..  You're comfortable naked around him and you just always go back.

It does wonders in the summer for controlling all my grease and never looks cakey!

8. Maybelline Master Highlight in "Molten Gold"

Maybelline killed it with this one you guys!  Amazing formula.

Seriously such a gorgeous highlight.  I just want to swim in it.  Also makes for a gorgeous lid color.

If you're on the more fair side this may not be for you but with a tan, AHHHHHMAZING.

9. ULTA Lipliner in "Bare"

I picked this up on a whim..  Ulta always has that buy 2 get 2 free deal (or whatever it is)

so I was just grabbing things.  

I really love this nude.  It looks so natural and applies like a dream.

10. ULTA Matte Makeup Setting Spray

So..  This stuff..  I'm really not even sure where to begin.

I could bathe in this..  I kind of want to drink it..  Okay, maybe I'm getting carried away.

But I love it!

This was a trial & error product but once I figured it out, I'm obsessed.  

You have to spray it very sparingly, too much and it'll make you seem oilier than usual.

I'll likely never buy a high-end setting spray again.

Seriously y'all, this stuff is better than my All Nighter by UD.

It also smells really good..  Double win.

11. Wet n Wild Lipstick in "Fergie Daily"

The most perfect brown-toned nude I own.  Not kidding.

It blends into my natural lip color so perfectly.

It isn't too brown and doesn't have a pinky undertone.  It's perfect.

Simply perfect.  

12. ULTA Clear Brow Gel

So, I've seen that this has mixed reviews on the Ulta website... DO NOT let that deter you!

Again, that damn 2 for 2 special got me.  Lol

I really needed something to tame my wild brows though and this stuff is like gorilla glue.

Love it.

I remove it the same as I do all my other makeup and never have an issue. 

13. Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso"

Possibly the most gorgeous drugstore blush you could ever own.

If you only own 1 blush, it should be this 1.

It isn't too intense and super buildable.

Beautiful on any skin tone and just adds a very subtle sheen.

And there you have it..  My must-have products from the drugstore and it's my strong opinion that you must have them too!  So run, don't walk.:-D

So this post is a bit late going up because I sat for a week obsessively refreshing pages trying to snag more items that I desperately needed..  oops.

Big sleeves are so on-trend right now and I must admit I am totally diggin it.

I must say in person the color is more gorgeous than I expected.  

It's a pink/purple/mauve color, very unique- and super soft!

This was the 1st piece I seen that got me interested in the sale.

I don't own any bell sleeve tops and I love that there is a fitted sleeve underneath so that your whole arm isn't out for the world with the least little movement and it'll actually keep you warm in the chillier months.

I'm really surprised this sweater didn't sell out immediately!

I was up at 7am the day that the sale opened to the public to make sure I snagged this!

Super soft and it makes me feel like a fabulous butterfly that just busted out of it's cocoon.

This Reebok sweatshirt!  UHHHH you guys, it's like lounging in a cloud.

I love that it doesn't have a hood like a lot of others do, because hoods just cause issues.  

They ride up your neck, they mess up your makeup, they mess up your hair... 

Just not a good time.

This is just thick enough to keep you cozy, the side slits are a great detail, it covers your butt so it'll be perfect with leggings, and I can just tell y'all now I'll be living in this!

I'm also loving the pocket.  

I love hoodies/ sweatshirts with pockets!  Idk. It's my thing, let me live.

Again... Something I'm for sure going to be living in.  All day err day!
I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews saying that these run extra small.
I'm usually a 7.5- I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly with just enough room left to wear socks if I want.
I have the other UGG slipper that doesn't have a back and I've pretty much worn them to death, so I thought these would be great plus they have a back to keep my whole foot warm!
Seriously they were such a bargain how could I not?! Usually $119, on sale for under $80!

Sephora Collection Citrus Brush Cleaner | Review + Demo

Hey Ya'll!

So I decided to give this a try after an Ulta MUA told me she swears by the Parian Secrets formula.

The Sephora Collection brush cleaner is actually a collab with Parian Secrets and is the exact same formula just packaged differently.

You can find the original Parian Secrets cleaner online in various sizes for more reasonable prices, but I opted for Sephora's because it was easier to get a hold of and is in a handy dandy spray bottle.

So... Does it really work??

HECK YES!!!!

I am completely and utterly obsessed.  I'm really not quite sure how I ever lived without this stuff and I'm not sure I'll ever wash my brushes with soap and water ever again.. lol

2 sprays is all you need even on larger powder brushes, swirl the brush on a paper towel and it comes clean..

So clean that all of the junk that comes off of it may scare you.

It has a fresh Citrus smell (which I love) and leaves my brushes super duper soft.

This cleaner is quick drying, but does leave your brush a little damp afterward so I wouldn't recommend using it and then going in to do your makeup right away.  

Granted your brushes won't be as clean as if you scrubbed them with soap & water, I've found the foundation brushes are the hardest but it definitely gets majority of my brushes totally clean.

It's great as a spot cleaner in between 'real' washes.

Another thing I use this for is to clean my foundation mixing pan.

I have such a hard time cleaning that darn thing with soap & water but just a half spray of this stuff and it wipes clean.

Overall, I definitely recommend this little miracle product.

I think this size bottle would last the average person quite a while.

I haven't even put a dent in mine and am already planning on purchasing back ups.

So go run, don't walk.
You need it.

Salty Mermaid Swimwear | Review + Mod Shots

First things first... The way that these swim suits are packaged and delivered is to die for!!!  To die I tell you!!  

I'm a sucker for packaging and obviously Mermaids *points to my blog name- the presentation when I opened this box made my jaw drop.  So adorable!!

I chose their "Pineapple Me Crazy" set & the "Merbabe" set.

They're both SO gorgeous!

The Pineapple has a triangle top with a "T cut" back and fringes that are removable and cheeky bottoms.

The Merbabe top is so cute and unique with a tied knot in the front.  

Personally I think it's super versatile and I'll probably style it as a crop top with high waist jean shorts.

Quality:  

The quality is top notch..  It just feels good to the touch and so comfy! 

Definitely luxe fabric with a seamless look.

Sizing:  

As far as sizing goes, I do feel like the bottoms are cut a wee bit smaller than "standard". 

I originally got my normal size (medium bottom and small top) and I ended up swapping out the bottoms for a large.

  For the "Pineapple Me Crazy" bottom sizes XS-M are "Brazilian cut" and L-XL are a "Cheeky"  scrunch butt style with a bit more coverage.  I originally got a medium Brazilian cut which on me was a thong- if you're comfortable with that then swim on little mermaid, but for me it just isn't practical for every day wear.  

I swapped out the medium bottoms for a large (super easy btw, their Customer Care is A++) and they fit amazingly!  

 I will insert photos below comparing the medium & large bottoms for both suits I received to give y'all a better idea of what I'm talking about.  

**Just so you know, not every set is made the same as far as cut & size, just be sure to check the description & their size chart is super informative as far as bottom sizes and styles.  I'm also told that in their upcoming South Africa collection, all bottoms will be available in both Brazilian and Cheeky.

Score!!

Overall, I LOVE this brand y'all!

On the uniqueness scale they get a 100%!

You see a lot of brands all using the same styles, but not Salty!

These suits have a little flare and are just perfect!

Compared to other brands at the same price point, I feel these blow those right out of the water.

(Pun intended.. lol)

Definitely check out their website and give them a try!

If you have a bit of a butt like me, I suggest sizing up on your bottoms and you'll be fine!
