High End Makeup | Is It Worth It?

Hey Hey Everybody!
Hope you're all having a fabulous & frisky Friday!
I get a lot of messages on social media & even asked in
person about my makeup.
A lot of people assume I am using extremely expensive products
to achieve "glam" looks or even my everyday look.
So I am here ladies and gents to give you all the run down and break
the glorious news that majority of my favorite items are drugstore
goodies that are super affordable.
You can find said items featured in a lot of my previous posts-
which I will link here πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

So what are the items I will splurge on???
I am here to tell ya'll!
While I love makeup- there's a limited group of items that
I will splurge on.
$30 mascaras are not a part of my journey.
Neither are $30+ lipsticks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some of these items
aren't great I just feel you generally get the same result and there's
more affordable options for these products.

Things I will splurge on:
eyeshadows, blush,
highlighters, facial sprays,
contour powders/ creams, skin care,
and a limited amount of
lip products.

The reason I will splurge on these items is simply because
I don't think any drugstore brands have items in these categories
that compare to the quality of their higher end counterparts.
 Simple as that!

Now... For the good stuff!
Have I built up enough anticipation?? LOL πŸ˜‚

cool you off in warmer climates.
Or I could be hallucinating all of those things to justify my
 love for this product..

or helps assist you in deciding what to spend your hard earned money on!

Oil Control Makeup | My Summer Foundation Routine

Hey Ya'll!
With hot weather approaching (maybe, maybe not... Global Warming is real y'all) I wanted
to share my Summer foundation routine for controlling my inner grease ball.
I tend to be extremely oily in the warmer/ humid months and have found some rideor die products along the way.

All of these products except the setting spray I've been using for years and swear by!
In this little run down of my routine/ must-haves, I'll be sharing my go-to moisturizer, foundation, bb cream, powder, and setting spray, ALL FOR THAT OIL, along with tips for staying shine free throughout the day... You're welcome.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
This moisturizer is geared towards people with combo oily to oily skin.
It's an oil-free product (which is important if you're already oily) and will reduce & suck up your oil production as well as give you an instantly matte base.
I think this is crucial as a sort of "primer" before my foundation.  For me, it's like a moisturizer and primer all in 1.  (The less products the better!)
I definitely get more oily if I don't use it.

Clinique Stay Matte Foundation in "19 Sand"
-
I really love this foundation!
This combined with the moisturizer will keep me matte for pretty much an entire day & night.
My only gripe, it's a bit thick for my preference & difficult to apply soooo I mix it with my
bb cream to thin it out.
This makes it much easier to apply with my beauty sponge and it also doesn't appear cakey.
(Anyone know why they call it cakey?  It doesn't look at all like cake, but there's layers to that shit! haha Omg is that way it's called that??  MAYBE! Cakey isn't what ya want, but actual cake, I could go for that.  Yum)

Garnier Combo to Oily BB Cream "Medium to Deep"
-
My holy grail!!!
The lighter shade is all that I wear usually during the winter.
I mix this with my Clinique foundation for a few reasons...
It thins the Clinique out, the bb has SPF, and together they're my perfect summer color.
Dreams do come true you guys!

Neutrogena Shine Control Translucent Pressed Powder
-
I use this to set my foundation as well as a touch-up powder for throughout the day.
This powder has "rice protein" and while I'm not totally sure what that is, I'm convinced it's a miracle product sent from the heavens.
I've tried other powders such as the Maybelline Matte + Poreless, but this is my fave for years.

ULTA Beauty Matte Setting Spray
-
I picked this up during the winter simply because it said "matte" and had good reviews.
Ulta brand products are usually buy 2, get 2 free, what a steal!
The first couple times I used it I wasn't sold on it and was convinced that they're big fat liars because it actually seemed to make me oilier than before, but after trial and error I've discovered that it has to be applied very sparingly to be effective.
I do maybe 3 sprays to cover my face and no lie, I am matte for the day!
Now, I'm obsessed.
It's a great price and it smells good!
I'm really looking forward to drowning myself in it this Summer.

Additional Tips:
- Be sure to set that t-zone especially!
- Don't pack a ton of heavy products on your face.
- Use powder products rather than cream.
- If you want to do highlight, don't add any near balls of cheeks, forehead, etc
it will just accentuate your shininess.
- Use oil- free products and products that mattify or control shine/ oil.
- If you have oily eyelids, be sure to use a lid primer to make your eye shadow last.

Other Face Products I Love During The Summer:
Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer
Milani baked blush in "Luminoso"
ANY peach lipstick or gloss!  Give me them all
Nars blush in "Orgasm"
Benefit blush in "Dallas", "Dandelion", "Rockateur", and "Coralista"
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in "Sun Dipped"
Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit
Stila eye shadow in "Kitten" - Loreal Infallible shadow in "Iced Latte" is a dupe
Urban Decay eye shadows in "Chopper", "Polyester Bride", "Smog", and "Half Baked"

I hope you guys love this post!

Mahogany Smoke | Get The Look

Hey Ya'll!!
So today I'm doing a post on this eye look. (Obvi lol)
I kind of just threw it together by mistake and ended up loving it so I wanted to share! :)
All of the other face products I used will be listed below, but since this post is focusing on the eyes that info is what will be most detailed.

I mostly used the Morphe 35o palette for this look, so starting with that...

1. Mixing some of 1 & 2 on a fluffy blending brush, apply that into your crease & upward in windshield wiper motions until completely blended.

2. Mix 3 & 4 on a pointed crease brush and apply into your crease, further defining it.  Starting in the center of your crease and going outward to the corner of your eye.  Pick up more product on your brush as needed and then blend from center in towards your inner corner.
*Be sure to leave the very center of your lid clean for a different shadow you'll apply later.
* Do this as much as needed to darken it to your desired shade.

3. Take a clean, soft blending brush and blend out all of the edges of the shadow you just applied in your crease.

4. With a liner brush- take a mix of 4 & 5 and apply it to your lower lash line, and then smudge it out.

5. Apply L'Oreal "Iced Latte" in the center of your lid with a soft shader brush.
6. Take the shade "Summer" from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit and apply it on top of "Iced Latte" for an extra POP!

(This palette is seriously so GORG!! If you don't have it you need to get it like last week.)

7. Then also apply "Summer" to your brow bone & inner corner.
(After I apply my brow highlight I always go back and blend the line between where my crease color ends & my brow bone highlight begin.)

8. Apply your mascara and you're done!
 (I used L'Oreal Carbon Black & Maybelline Push-Up Drama)

Other Face Products Used:
-Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
-Garnier BB Cream for Oily to Combo Skin
-Clinique Stay-Matte Foundation
-Garnier Anti Dark Circle Eye Roller
-Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer
-Maybelline Master Fix Loose Powder to set my t-zone
-NYX Retractable Eyeliner in "White"
-Benefit Cheekathon Palette "Hoola" to contour, and "Coralista" blush with "Rockateur" on top.
-Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Dipped Glow Kit "Summer" & "Moonstone" for my cheekbone hilight
-Rimmel London "Eastend Snob" Lip Liner
-NYX Liquid Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in "Lace Detail"

I hope y'all liked this post!
Let me know in the comments anything else you'd like to see in future posts.

Summer Beauty Must-Haves ☀️

Hey ya'll!
Today I'm sharing all of my must-have beauty/makeup items for this
ridiculously humid Summer we're having.

With my combo to oily skin, in humidity, I'm an instant grease ball so I'm always trying to combat the oil in the Summer months!

My first absolute NEED is a true to it's word, matte foundation.
For me, that's Clinique Stay-Matte.
I'm usually more of a BB cream person, but I'm just so impressed by
the mattifying power of this foundation.
The consistency of it is pretty thick and difficult to apply with a beauty blender, so I usually mix a little of my Garnier BB Cream into it so that it's easier to work with.
This foundation keeps me pretty matte ALL day even out in the humidity.
(Mine is in the shade Sand)

Next is my favorite setting powder & the same powder I use throughout the day for touch-ups.
The Neutrogena Shine Control powder is amazing!
It says it has rice protein, and while I'm not totally sure what that is, I think it must work wonders.
By far the best powder I've tried for controlling oil.

One of my all-time favorite, year round, eye shadows is L'Oreal Infallible in Iced Latte.
I use this all year round, but it's particularly gorgeous in the Summer with a tan!
It's also a near perfect dupe for Stila Kitten. ;-)

With all of Maybelline's new product releases, the Color Tattoo Chrome eye shadows have quickly become a favorite.
My go-to shade is Beige Luster.

The staying powder of this eye shadow is AMAZING..  Even when you're ready to take it off, it's not ready.  Lol
I apply this with the wand, super easy.
It dries almost immediately, and lasts ALL day & probably night too.
I don't keep this in my purse because knowing me, I'd mistakingly apply it as lipgloss.  LOL

It's my opinion that everyone needs a HiLight that beams into the heavens on a daily basis, but especially during the Summer months!
I recently discovered the Revolution brand in Ulta and am utterly obsessed with their Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights.
I have used it every time I do my makeup since I bought it.
It's gorgeous alone or on top of 1 or 2 other highlighters.
Lol.

My go to lipstick lately was something I originally had mixed feelings about.
NYX Liquid Lipstick in Lace Detail.
I bought this in the winter and just wasn't really feeling it with my pale skin, but now that I am more tan, I think it's the perfect summer nude for me.
Definitely a great product if you don't want to worry about touch-ups.

A favorite for a good all-over body glow is Hawaiian Tropic After Sun lotion with Shimmer Effect.
I've been using this for years and it never disappoints.
It smells great and doesn't leave any color transfer on clothing.
(I can't find this specific one, but I linked a similar item.)

A new, happy discovery this year has been this amazing product from Million Dollar Tan.
Their "All That Shimmers" dry oil is AHHHMAZING.
Literally life changing.
It isn't a "fake tan", but a temporary bronzer that'll wash off when you shower.
I love applying this to my legs.  I mix it with my lotion so that it isn't too over-powering since it is fairly dark.
(Use Code TERINTAN20 for 20% off your order)

That about wraps this post up!
I hope you guys enjoy it!
Let me know in the comments what your favorite Summer time products are!

My Skin Care Routine

Hey y'all!  So this post is going to be dedicated to skin care..  Finally, right??
I'm going to be sharing my routine and favorite products.  :-)
I try to keep it as simple as possible.  You don't need a ton of products, just a few good ones.
I have normal to oily skin.. More so oily.
All products will be linked per ush.
Discount codes at the bottom.

First thing's first, these are the products I use on a daily basis.
Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion - Click Here
Bio Oil - Click Here
Garnier Clean + Daily Scrub - Click Here
Garnier Moisture Renew Gel-Creme - Click Here
Clean & Clear Spot Treatment - Click Here
Garnier Anti Puff Eye Roller - Click Here
Sephora Dynamic Duo Face Brush - Click Here
(I don't wear makeup daily, so the products I use for removing & cleansing my face after makeup will be featured below.)

I cleanse my face daily while showering.  My go-to face wash is the Garnier daily scrub, because I have combo to oily skin and feel the need to exfoliate every day to avoid buildup. This face wash has mint in it, so it makes your face feel cold and tingly..  I'm not sure why, but I love that.
I rub some all over my face and then use my Sephora face brush..  I rotate sides on different days, I only use the brush side 2-3 times a week to avoid skin irritation.  The pink side is less abrasive than the brush side.

After showering, I use bio oil in any extra dry areas..  Bio Oil is also great for stretch marks, scars, and preventing ingrown hairs.  It's a holy grail product in my opinion.  I've been using it for over 3 years.

I moisturize my whole body with the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Lotion.  I really love the Cocoa Radiant line, I use quite a few of the products, and love them all.  I love the smell of cocoa butter and think that this lotion is super moisturizing.  I use it daily after showering.

The Garnier eye roller and Clean & Clear spot treatment I use as needed.  The Garnier eye roller is amazing if your eyes are a little puffy or swollen from not enough sleep or even if you've been wearing eye makeup a lot your lids can get a little swollen or irritated, I use it for that too..  The spot treatment is pretty self explanatory, I use it to spot treat any breakouts before applying my facial moisturizer.
A spot treatment type product is a staple in any facial routine, because let's be real, there's no woman on Earth so flawless that she doesn't breakout around "that time" of the month.. And by "that time" I mean the dreaded time when you hate everyone and pretty much want to die.  :-)
I use the green Moisture Rescue Gel-Creme, which is for "normal skin", I've also tried the pink version for "dry" skin and really can't tell a difference between the 2.  So I go for the green because mint is my favorite color, obvi.
I prefer gel face lotions because I am typically oily and it helps prevent additional oil and breakouts.  :-)
Also, sitting here typing it, I really am not sure why it's called a "Gel-Creme", it's a gel..

Now...  When I am wearing makeup, I always clean my face first in the shower.  I use the pink side of my face brush prior to doing my makeup, because I will use the brush side when taking it off.  You don't want to over exfoliate your skin because it can cause it be more oily and/ or breakout.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - Click Here

I really love the Clinique Moisturizing Gel.  The Gel version is for oily skin and it's AHHHHMAZING!!!  I use this to moisturize before applying my makeup, especially in the summer it does a killer job at controlling my oil throughout the day.

Neutrogena Hydrating Makeup Remover Towelettes - Click Here

When it's time to remove my makeup... :'( Such a sad time.
I start with these Neutrogena wipes, they get off majority of my makeup and don't irritate my skin.

After, I use my Garnier face wash & Sephora face brush to deeper clean my skin and pores, because there is ALWAYS some makeup hanging on for dear life after using a remover wipe.  ;-)
It's super important to always wash your face, using a remover wipe isn't enough!  Please believe me!

Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing Pads - Click Here

After I wash my face, I use these Aveeno pads to just go over my face 1 more time, and grab anything that may be left on my face.  They are pre-moistened, 1 side of the pad is smooth, and the other is bumpy to lightly exfoliate.  I typically only use these when cleaning my face after wearing makeup.  I picked these up to try as that "third step" that isn't too harsh on my face, and I have been using these for a couple weeks and so far I really like them.  I can already tell a difference in the size of my pores!!  That's major.
Once I rub my face some with each side of the pad, I rinse my face then pat it dry with a towel.
After cleaning my face I moisturize with my Garnier Face Moisturizer, or the Clinique one if I am having a breakout or feeling more oily than usual.

That's pretty much it for my routine and the products I use constantly.  I'm going to drop a few of my other skin care favorites right below...  I don't use them all of the time, but I love them all the same!
:-)

Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Spray Moisturizer - Click Here
Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil - Click Here

These 2 were moisturizing saviors for me this past summer.  With tanning, swimming, and the humidity my skin was feeling thirsty!!  This body gel gave my skin life!!!  It makes your skin so soft and shiny.  It does leave you feeling a little "oily" or "greasy" so I don't pack it on, I just do a light layer.. I've even used it this winter.  It's so good!  I've also used it as a "skin treatment" type thing...  I applied it after a late night bath and then slept with it on...  It worked wonders.

The spray lotion is basically my "lazy go-to".. Lol..  Don't judge me.
If I'm in a rush (because I am always late to everything) or don't feel like taking the time to rub lotion in, I use this.
I just spray it and it rubs in super fast..  Simples

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser - Click Here

I use this occasionally if I am feeling like my pores are clogged or there's buildup on my skin.  I haven't used it much since I started using the Aveeno pads, but this use to be my first step in cleansing my face of makeup.

Annnnd that's all folks!!  Haha
I hope y'all find this helpful/ informative.  These products and routine have worked well for my sometimes sensitive and overly oily skin.
If you're sensitive and can breakout easily, definitely try Garnier.  Their products were the only thing my face liked for a while.

As always, any questions or suggestions you can drop in the comments below or in a private contact form from the nav bar!  :-)
I would love to hear from readers.

Terin
