High End Makeup | Is It Worth It?

Hey Hey Everybody!
Hope you're all having a fabulous & frisky Friday!
I get a lot of messages on social media & even asked in
person about my makeup.
A lot of people assume I am using extremely expensive products
to achieve "glam" looks or even my everyday look.
So I am here ladies and gents to give you all the run down and break
the glorious news that majority of my favorite items are drugstore
goodies that are super affordable.
You can find said items featured in a lot of my previous posts-
which I will link here πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

So what are the items I will splurge on???
I am here to tell ya'll!
While I love makeup- there's a limited group of items that
I will splurge on.
$30 mascaras are not a part of my journey.
Neither are $30+ lipsticks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some of these items
aren't great I just feel you generally get the same result and there's
more affordable options for these products.

Things I will splurge on:
eyeshadows, blush,
highlighters, facial sprays,
contour powders/ creams, skin care,
and a limited amount of
lip products.

The reason I will splurge on these items is simply because
I don't think any drugstore brands have items in these categories
that compare to the quality of their higher end counterparts.
 Simple as that!

Now... For the good stuff!
Have I built up enough anticipation?? LOL πŸ˜‚

-Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
I love this because it helps control my oil
in the summer months
and is great under makeup.
-Urban Decay B6 Facial Spray -Click HERE to Shop-
I love this for plumping & prepping
my skin before makeup.
-Mac Studio Fix+ -Click HERE to Shop-
I mainly use this on my brushes
before applying a shimmer shadow
or highlight.  It really makes them POP!
-Clinique Stay Matte Foundation -Click HERE to Shop-
I mix this in with my Garnier BB cream
in the summer months to
control my grease ball skin.
AMAZING for controlling shine.
-Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Bronzer -Click HERE to Shop-
UGH. Just amazing.
Such a gorgeous bronzer.
No words. Buy it.
-NARS "Orgasm" Blush (to die for) -Click HERE to Shop-
Gorgeous buildable shade with a sheen
that gives you a glow from within look.
A summer time fave.
-Benefit Cosmetics "Cheekathon" Palette
(the 1 I have was limited edition😩)
*Similar linked here... -Click HERE to Shop-
I prefer their cheek palettes because
they are FULL SIZE pans that you
would get buying them individually
but for major BANG for your buck$
-Benefit Cosmetics "Hoola" Quickie Contour Stick
I really enjoy this.
It's actually my only cream contour product.
Unfortunately there's only 1 shade
but it works year round for me.
-Anastasia Beverly Hils x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit
(limited edition 😩)
Seriously GORG.
Plus I love Nicole so I had to support.
It's tragically not
available right now but I have seen it sporadically
come back so keep your eyes peeled.
-Anastasia Beverly Hills "Sun Dipped" Glow Kit
Super gorgeous too!
4 shades compared to Nicole's 6 but larger pans.
-NARS "Wanted" Eyeshadow Palette -Click HERE to Shop-
Seriously ya'll.  Go get it now.
Possibly the most buttery & pigmented eyeshadows
that I have ever encountered.
Worth the money!!!
-Urban Decay "Naked 1" Palette
(specifically the NAKED & BUCK shades)
My first high-end product/ palette.
Forever a love of mine with very pretty shades.
I've hit pan on "buck" & "naked" they are just the most
perfect transition shades.
-Stila "Kitten" Eyeshadow -Click HERE to Shop-
Oh me oh my! SO pretty & smooth.
Amazing as eyeshadow, highlight
or to bathe in.  Whatever.  Lol
-Buxom "White Russian" Lip Polish -Click HERE to Shop-
Possibly 1 of the only high-end lip products
I'd repurchase over and over.
I love the intense tingle/ chilly feeling.
Strangely it can soothe my anxiety
(I think it's the pepperminty smell) and will even help
cool you off in warmer climates.
Or I could be hallucinating all of those things to justify my
 love for this product..
I feel confident that the above is true though.

And that's all folks!
I hope this answered some of your burning questions
or helps assist you in deciding what to spend your hard earned money on!
As always feel free to drop me any questions or suggestions for
future posts.

Top 10 for Dry Skin

Hey Hey Hey!!!
You read the title so you know what's going down in this post.
First though... Let's take a moment to admire the title. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘†πŸΌ
Quite the clever gal, huh??
I actually made it up by complete accident when I was saving
my cover photo... Anyhow....
Let's get to the good stuff.

*Majority of these products can be found at your local drugstore
or Target (target is my jam)!
I'm all about affordability and accessibility.
(I just made that up also- I don't even know if affordability is a word.)

1.  Soap & Glory "The Breakfast Scrub"  -Click Here to Shop-
The smell y'all!  It's really the only reason I caved and bought it.
I don't care, it's the truth...  It's a really nice scrub though.
Pretty typical- gets rid of the dead skin and what not.
Oh did I mention how good it smells?

2. Tone "Mango Splash" Body Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
I've been using this stuff for YEARS.  Years on years.
Not sure about the mango- it used to be called coconut something
and it still smells exactly the same sooo yeah.
Anyways it's really amaze balls and super affordable.
I stock pile this stuff!

3.  LUSH "Ocean Salt" Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
Good golly miss Molly!  A part of me wishes the sales rep
at Lush had never given me a sample of this amazingness because now
my life cannot go on without it.
I only use this on my face but it is marketed as face + body- it does
wonders for my face!  It smells (and tastes.. is that weird?) amazing.
It has VODKA, limes, salt.. so basically it's a margarita for your face.
It exfoliates and tones and I swear it makes me a better person as well..
*Make sure you buy the original!  The self-preserving version has honey
and that's not so great on ya face trust me- I tried it.

4.  LUSH "Bubblegum" Lip Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
I have their "chocolate" lip scrub but I couldn't find a good stock
photo of that so here's the bubblegum! LOL
I imagine they all work the same.  This tiny jar will probably
last you at least half your life.  No joke.  It's an all natural
product so you can literally eat it if you want (which I do sometimes).
Don't judge me.
I love using this when I have chapped lips but also when I wear
liquid lipstick (before & after) because it helps prep your lips
and also helps remove all the leftover product that's hanging on for dear life
when you're removing your makeup.

5.  Palmer's "FACE" Skin Therapy Oil  -Click Here to Shop-
La la la la; do do do do do ohhhh.. Cause loving you has made
my life so beautiful.
I've mentioned this before on my blog..
I live for products that are great and affordable.
I apply this with a makeup brush to dry patches on my face usually before
bed and find that it really helps soothe dry or chapped skin.
I've also applied it all over my face and neck as moisturizer as
well as under my makeup during the winter.  It's a blue ribbon product.
*Fun side note..  I experienced some breakouts while undergoing laser
hair removal and this really helped!  It reduced the size, redness, and helped
get rid of them all together.

6.  Simple Moisturizing Face Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
So I got a sample size of this with my last re-up of my makeup remover wipes.
I assumed I wouldn't like it because I have pretty oily skin and feel the need to
exfoliate nearly ever day; however, I was wrong and I'm so glad I was!
I've since re-purchased the full size bottle of this and use it nearly every day
which is major because if you know me- I'm ride or die for my Garnier face
wash.
So the Simple brand is geared towards being "kind to your skin" it has
vitamins B5 & E and claims to cleanse throughly without being harsh.
All of which I believe to be true.  It's really cool because it cleans and
moisturizes my face without making me any more oily than usual.
It also has a faint fresh scent.  (Not clean cotton scent but just clean.) Love!

7.  Yes to Coconuts Lip Balm  -Click Here to Shop-
I'm coo coo for this cocoa balm!
Seriously..  It's the best chapstick/ lip balm I have EVER used
and I'll probably never buy any other product.  Immediately after
trying this the first time I knew I was in love and ordered 5 more!
It's constantly sold out at my Target (I think that says something).
I keep these things everywhere!  Bedside, purse, vanity, you name it!
It has a soft coconut scent and is SOOO moisturizing.
A huge bonus for me is if your lips are chapped it won't cling
to those dry areas and make your lips feel or look gross.  MAJOR
If you try nothing else off this list please try this..
Or actually don't because I already have a hard enough time finding this gem.
Lol

8.  Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Creme  -Click Here to Shop-
Another tried & true.  I've been using this stuff for years.  I love how
light-weight it is on my skin- feels like I'm bare faced.
The mint version is for "normal" skin and their pink version is for dry skin-
I've personally tried them both and don't see a difference between the 2 so obvi
I opt for the mint because it's my favorite color.
Girl logic.
No scent, the gel feels cool to your skin, and looks great under my makeup!
I ALWAYS apply this before doing my makeup- unless it's summer time
then I use a Clinique gel creme that controls oil.

9.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Gel  -Click Here to Shop-
So #9 & #10 go hand in hand.  Literally.
I mix them.  Talk about the DREAM TEAM.
When I'm feeling dry or even if I have a sunburn- I'll pump some
of the lotion into my hand then a squeeze of this gel (oil) and mix them in my hand
then apply all over my body.  AMAZING!
I have also used this stuff alone.  It's a bit heavy and will for sure leave ya greasy
so beware, but it's really good!!!
It's also a great foot treatment. Lol  I smother my feet in it and then put on socks.

10.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Lotion  -Click Here to Shop-
Again.. Hand in hand..  I use this lotion even if I don't use the body gel.
I apply this daily after I shower.  It never leaves me feeling greasy and doesn't
give me that heavy feeling that some lotions do.  I'm super sensitive to most smells
(which is why I don't really use specialty lotions from places like B&BW) and
I find that this isn't so over powering that I get a headache from it and after a while
I don't really smell it at all.  It also doesn't clash with any of my perfumes.
If you haven't noticed I live for coconut anything but if you aren't a fan
there's a lot of different versions & scents of this lotion so don't let that
keep you away.  πŸ˜Š

That's all y'all.. Omg again with the rhyming.
I hope you guys enjoyed & hope you can fight off the dreadful
dry skin this time of year!

Til next time...
XO,
Terin

3 Steps for a Flawless Complexion

Hey ya'll!
For today's post I wanted to share 3 easy steps to a flawless complextion-
with the help of some makeup of course.  πŸ˜‰
I strongly strongly urge everyone to have a good skincare regimen
in place because let's face it- there's some things that not even makeup
can help.  I think that skin care is paramount, with the right skincare
routine you could possibly take over the world and wouldn't even need
makeup to do so.
(I'll touch on that another day.)

Now for a good appearing complexion with makeup...
Ever heard "if you can't tone it, tan it?"
Well that statement is true about most things in life.
Life is just better with a tan and far more sexual.
So that my friends is where a good self tanner comes into play.
Personally, Million Dollar Tan is my favorite brand that I've tried.
My 2 favorite tanning products are their
Cabana Tan Extreme & Mermaid Mouse.
You can receive 20% off any order with code TERINTAN20

*My Self-Tanning Routine Can be Found HERE

Now once you've got yourself all sexified with your fake tan you can
add makeup to the recipe at any time.

My top 2 recommendations are as follows:
1. Color Correcting (as/ if needed)
*My choice pictured above can be found HERE
2. A good foundation/bb cream/cc cream & concealer
*My go-to products pictured above can be found HERE and HERE

For color correcting, you can choose whichever
products/ colors you like that apply to your trouble areas.
Each color helps a different problem.
I believe the concept is whatever the color is- it combats it's opposite
on the color wheel.  (Don't quote me though.)
There are multiple color correcting products on the market both high
end and drugstore, most are in a palette form and need a brush to apply
which is why I opted to share the Maybelline versions.
They're in a convenient twist up stick w/ an applicator tip. SCORE

Now if you are at all familiar with my blog you know
I am ride or die for the Garnier Oily to Combo BB Creams.
First foundation type product I ever bought and have it in every shade!
I try other things and sometimes mix Garnier with another product but at the
end of the day I always come back to my first true love.
With that- I use the Garnier anti dark circle eye roller.  I don't personally
feel I have dark circles (although I probably will soon) but I just love this
concealer.  The roller ball feels cool to the skin and the product itself is so
creamy and easy to blend.
True match made in Heaven if there ever was 1, but feel free to use whatever
you enjoy and feel comfortable with...

And that's all folks!
Afterwards go about the rest of your makeup however you usually would with
your favorite products or perhaps some new goodies you picked up..
Your choice.
Be sure to let me know your favorite tips & tricks for a
flawless complexion below.

I hope you all enjoy this post (if you don't I'll cut you).

Til Next Time....
XO,
Terin

Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

So today I want to share, you guessed, my drugstore favorites! You're shocked aren't you? These are all products I own and truly love & pretty much believe my life can't go on without.Just wanted to point out that I didn't throw together a random list of affordable products, I own them all and it just happens to be a plus that they're on the more affordable side. :-)Some are cult classics and others are what I consider hidden gems.

1. Rimmel Lip Liner in "Eastend Snob"
A true love of mine.  It's just the perfect "your lips but better" color.
The staying power, YALL, amazing..

2. ColourPop Liquid Lipstick in "Clueless"
This isn't technically a "drugstore" product but it's at a drug store price point.
A near perfect dupe for Anastasia Beverly Hills "Dusty Rose", it's super gorgeous
and great all year round!

3. Garnier BB Cream for Oily to Combo Skin
If you know me at all or have read any other blog post of mine then you know this is
just the dear dear love of my life.
I have the light/medium & the medium/deep- love them both.

4. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I'm not a huge fan of using brushes to blend liquids.
I just feel like total Betty Crocker aka the dreaded cake face queen.
So this is my go to.  BB creams, concealer, all those liquids!

5. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
I've heard this is a good dupe for the Nars concealer.
Can't speak on that myself; however, I do love this stuff.
I own a few shades and haven't been disappointed yet.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in "Iced Latte"
TOTAL DUPE ALERT... Stila Kitten!
Hello, best dupe ever.. Like ever..
I own this & the Stila and honestly some days this is more pigmented!
So gorgeous all over the lid.

7. Neutrogena Shine Control Powder
Amazing. Done. Go get it.
I've tried other setting powders but this is my old faithful that I keep going back to.
It's like a man..  You're comfortable naked around him and you just always go back.
It does wonders in the summer for controlling all my grease and never looks cakey!

8. Maybelline Master Highlight in "Molten Gold"
Maybelline killed it with this one you guys!  Amazing formula.
Seriously such a gorgeous highlight.  I just want to swim in it.  Also makes for a gorgeous lid color.
If you're on the more fair side this may not be for you but with a tan, AHHHHHMAZING.

9. ULTA Lipliner in "Bare"
I picked this up on a whim..  Ulta always has that buy 2 get 2 free deal (or whatever it is)
so I was just grabbing things.
I really love this nude.  It looks so natural and applies like a dream.

10. ULTA Matte Makeup Setting Spray
So..  This stuff..  I'm really not even sure where to begin.
I could bathe in this..  I kind of want to drink it..  Okay, maybe I'm getting carried away.
But I love it!
This was a trial & error product but once I figured it out, I'm obsessed.
You have to spray it very sparingly, too much and it'll make you seem oilier than usual.
I'll likely never buy a high-end setting spray again.
Seriously y'all, this stuff is better than my All Nighter by UD.
It also smells really good..  Double win.

11. Wet n Wild Lipstick in "Fergie Daily"
The most perfect brown-toned nude I own.  Not kidding.
It blends into my natural lip color so perfectly.
It isn't too brown and doesn't have a pinky undertone.  It's perfect.
Simply perfect.

12. ULTA Clear Brow Gel
So, I've seen that this has mixed reviews on the Ulta website... DO NOT let that deter you!
Again, that damn 2 for 2 special got me.  Lol
I really needed something to tame my wild brows though and this stuff is like gorilla glue.
Love it.
I remove it the same as I do all my other makeup and never have an issue.

13. Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso"
Possibly the most gorgeous drugstore blush you could ever own.
If you only own 1 blush, it should be this 1.
It isn't too intense and super buildable.
Beautiful on any skin tone and just adds a very subtle sheen.

And there you have it..  My must-have products from the drugstore and it's my strong opinion that you must have them too!  So run, don't walk.:-D
Til Next Time...XO,Terin

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | My Top Picks

Hey Ya'll!
So this is the first year I've been super pumped about the Nsale!
The sale opened to the public today July 21st & ends August 6th.
So before I jump into my top picks- here's a run down of the way it works.
It opens to Nordstrom card holders first before it opens to the general public.
During those days, if you're a card holder you can purchase in store or order, and if you're not you can still browse the preview on their site which will show you everything that will be included in the sale, it's original price, sale price, etc etc..
The sale includes: Womens, Mens, Kids, Home, and Beauty.
I'm not a card holder because I would most likely be bankrupt, (jk..I have self control. Sometimes)
but I have been browsing all of the items as well as reading blogs and watching try-on hauls.
Last night I added all of the items I knew I want to a "wishlist" (which you can do on their site) so that I would be ready this morning (I set my alarm for 7AM... no biggie..).

Warning..  These items go quick!!!
Anything in your cart is not reserved and CAN sell out.
Luckily the main items I wanted I was able to snag this morning and the others I have open in my browser, and am still hoping to get them at some point if they come back in stock.
I've heard that if an item is out of stock Nordstrom restocks a lot of items every day, but I've also found that refreshing the page like a mad woman is rather effective as well.
Whatever works, right?

So let me shut my mouth and get into it.
The following items are ALL items I am hoping to get my hands on and I feel confident
my life cannot go on without them.
*Original & Sale Price will be below the photo as well as a link to the item.

Bell Sleeve Sweater by CHELSEA28
Originally: $89.00
On Sale: $58.90
I snagged this beauty up because it's unlike anything I have in my closet.
Bell sleeves are super on trend, but this top is unique because under the bell sleeve is a built in fitted sleeve so that your arm is still covered and warm.
I think that's a great unique touch.

Rib Knit Open Cardigan by DREAMERS BY DEBUT
(Currenty Sold Out- Will update prices later.)
I am anxiously refreshing the page over and over just praying to get this!
It looks so snuggly and amazing.  A chunky cardigan is a staple for Fall & Winter.
All of the reviews say it's amazing.
Wrin Rib-Knit & Genuine Shearling Slipper by UGG
Originally: $119.95
Sale Price: $79.90
Grabbed these up first thing!
I'll probably wear these as shoes, majority of the UGG 'slippers' are more like shoes.
I have the open back slippers and live in them, so I thought these would be great too.
Reviews say they run extremely small, I'm usually a 7.5 and ordered a 9.
Corbin Genuine Calf Hair Slide Loafer by HALOGEN
Originally: $89.95
Sale Price: $59.90
I think these are incredible!  Sassy and classic at the same time.
Everyone needs a little leopard in their life.  RAWR
(What sound does a leopard make?  Idk)
They're out of stock in my size *cries a river- but I'm keeping a check on them!

Favorite Oversize Crew Sweatshirt by REEBOK
Originally: $55.00
Sale Price: $35.90
Again..  I'm constantly refreshing the page hoping to get this.
I feel like this is something I'd just live in all winter.
It covers your butt so it's perfect for leggings.
The white color is called "Chalk/Grey" but a Nordstrom rep has assured me it's indeed white.

 V-Neck Pullover by BP.
Originally: $39.00
Sale Price: $24.90
Over-sized sweaters are a must.  They're just so versatile.
Snagged this in "grey med hthr".

 Blouson Sleeve Sweater by LEITH
Originally: $69.00
Sale Price: $45.90
This hidden gem isn't something I'd see online and say "yes, need it", but I seen
it featured in a try-on haul and it really caught my eye!
Right now it's only available in the color shown above, but if any other colors restock I'm definitely ordering!
Prasata Bootie by VINCE CAMUTO
Originally: $149.95
Sale Price: $99.90
Booties are everything lately.  I think these would be great transition shoes from Fall and into Winter.
I'm being indecisive over these just because I can't decide between black and brown- it would be silly to get the same shoe in 2 colors.... Or would it? Hm.

I'm also linking some of my favorite blogs that have done posts on the sale
as well as a couple try-on hauls that aided me in my decisions on what I just had to have.

Happy Shopping!
XO,
Terin
