3 Steps for a Flawless Complexion

Hey ya'll!
For today's post I wanted to share 3 easy steps to a flawless complextion-
with the help of some makeup of course.  😉
I strongly strongly urge everyone to have a good skincare regimen
in place because let's face it- there's some things that not even makeup
can help.  I think that skin care is paramount, with the right skincare
routine you could possibly take over the world and wouldn't even need
makeup to do so.
(I'll touch on that another day.)

Now for a good appearing complexion with makeup...
Ever heard "if you can't tone it, tan it?"
Well that statement is true about most things in life.
Life is just better with a tan and far more sexual.
So that my friends is where a good self tanner comes into play.
Personally, Million Dollar Tan is my favorite brand that I've tried.
My 2 favorite tanning products are their
Cabana Tan Extreme & Mermaid Mouse.
You can receive 20% off any order with code TERINTAN20

*My Self-Tanning Routine Can be Found HERE

Now once you've got yourself all sexified with your fake tan you can
add makeup to the recipe at any time.

My top 2 recommendations are as follows:
1. Color Correcting (as/ if needed)
*My choice pictured above can be found HERE
2. A good foundation/bb cream/cc cream & concealer
*My go-to products pictured above can be found HERE and HERE

For color correcting, you can choose whichever
products/ colors you like that apply to your trouble areas.
Each color helps a different problem.
I believe the concept is whatever the color is- it combats it's opposite
on the color wheel.  (Don't quote me though.)
There are multiple color correcting products on the market both high
end and drugstore, most are in a palette form and need a brush to apply
which is why I opted to share the Maybelline versions.
They're in a convenient twist up stick w/ an applicator tip. SCORE

Now if you are at all familiar with my blog you know
I am ride or die for the Garnier Oily to Combo BB Creams.
First foundation type product I ever bought and have it in every shade!
I try other things and sometimes mix Garnier with another product but at the
end of the day I always come back to my first true love.
With that- I use the Garnier anti dark circle eye roller.  I don't personally
feel I have dark circles (although I probably will soon) but I just love this
concealer.  The roller ball feels cool to the skin and the product itself is so
creamy and easy to blend.
True match made in Heaven if there ever was 1, but feel free to use whatever
you enjoy and feel comfortable with...

And that's all folks!
Afterwards go about the rest of your makeup however you usually would with
your favorite products or perhaps some new goodies you picked up..
Your choice.
Be sure to let me know your favorite tips & tricks for a
flawless complexion below.

I hope you all enjoy this post (if you don't I'll cut you).

Til Next Time....
XO,
Terin

My Current Sunless Tanning Routine | Million Dollar Tan

Hey Hey Hey!
So with warm weather rapidly approaching,
my summer bod is not ready *she types as she eats a cookie
and chances are you're just as pale as I am soooo I wanted to share my self tanning routine.
Sunless tanning is safer (depending on your product of choice) than a tanning bed or good ol laying out and baking like a rotisserie chicken and won't have such intense premature aging effects on your skin.
Truth be told, sunless tanning isn't my favorite, it's actually kind of a pain in my entire ass, I'm not sure there's anyone who 'loves' it, BUT you gotta do what cha gotta do!
(This is the least painful way I've discovered. *wink)
Sunless tanning isn't something I do regularly, but when I'm aching for some color or have a special occasion it's my go to!

Million Dollar Tan is the brand I prefer after many trials and errors.
I've tried a few things from them but Cabana Tan Extreme & Mermaid Mousse Extreme are my favorites & I mix them together.
I apply both with their "Blend Friend Mitt".
Y'all seriously though, the mitt is everything... It's a total game changer for a flawless tan.
Quick Run Down of the 2:
Both are sunless gradual tanners that last anywhere from 1-2 weeks, CTE is a white lotion with no color guard while MME is a mousse and has a color guard that gives some instant color while the rest develops.
Mermaid Mousse is Cruelty Free, Vegan, Natural Ingredients, and Paraben Free.
I'm not sure about Cabana Tan Extreme because it doesn't say. *shrugs
If you decide you'd like to try my favorite products or anything else from MDT,
use code TERINTAN20 at checkout to receive 20% off your order. XO

Tips:

  • Shower, Shave, and Exfoliate Prior (Because you don't want to be furry and because it rubs off dry/ dead skin so you don't look like a patchwork blanket!)
  • Allow your pores time to close after showering before applying tanner
  • Shaving the day prior to tanning will reduce the chance of ugly brown spots. (This is from the tanner settling into your open pores, it isn't cute.)
  • Make sure you're dry before applying
  • Apply a barrier cream or extra lotion to extra dry spots (elbows, wrists, feet, etc) to avoid tanner buildup/ orange areas.
  • Wear dark/ loose fitting clothing (If the product has a color guard it may transfer but will wash out.)
  • Do NOT sweat or get wet in any way while your tan is developing (Any wetness may make your tan blotchy/ patchy.. So better stay away from that porn too. lmao)
  • Give your tan at least 6 hours to develop (I let mine marinate overnight.)
  • Once it's done developing, shower to rinse the color guard & any excess off.
  • In the week(s) a head reduce how often you exfoliate your face/ body to expand the life of your tan.

My Routine:
  1. I shower, shave, and exfoliate... I actually exfoliate before I shave but whatevvs it's your thing do what you wanna do, girl.  *Currently my favorite scrub is by Soap & Glory and it's "The Breakfast Scrub" smells so good!! Mmmm
  2. Once I get out of the shower I towel dry a little and then air dry for about 10-15 minutes to let my pores close and make sure my skin is good and dry.
  3. I take some coconut oil (better than any barrier cream you'll ever use.) and rub it all over my knees, elbows, wrists, the bottom of my feet, toes, heels, and then I rub it all over my hands before putting on the "blend friend" mitt.  (So no tanner seeps through and I end up with orange palms.)
  4. I slip the mitt on (I rotate back and fourth from my left & right hand to get a good even application) and put a few pumps of  CTE & MME on the mitt, dab a few spots over the area I'm working on, and then I begin to rub and blend it in.  *I usually start up top and work my way down but do my face last.  i.e.: arms, chest, stomach, legs.. you get the idea.
  5. As I'm doing my body I rub majority of the tanner in before hitting any of the spots I applied coconut oil to so that there's minimum product on my mitt and I don't get any buildup in those tricky areas.  *I go over my chest, arms, and legs twice.
  6. Once I've done my body, I apply my usual face moisturizer- then using the opposite side of the mitt (because in my head that seems more sanitary) I pump some of the CTE FACE lotion and a half pump of MME then apply that all over my face and down my neck.  Don't forget the back of your neck!  I just rub over it with whatever is left on my mitt after doing my face,
  7. Once you've completed those steps you're pretty much done.  Just to be safe I usually walk/ dance around my room for 10 minutes or so just to make sure it's all dry before dressing.
The next day.. Makeup sold separately.

I hope y'all enjoy this!
I know it may seem like a lot but I promise it takes me 20 mins tops to apply!!
Of course I'm not saying this is the right or only way to self tan, it's just my way and I wanted to share... Sharing is caring after all.

My Go-To Spring & Summer Nail Polishes💅🏽

Hey Y'all!!
So with Summer quickly approaching, today I'm going to be sharing my favorite nail polishes for Spring & Summer months.
For polish, staying power is #1 for me and #2 is a good color POP.
I always apply 2 coats of whichever shade I am using to ensure the color is strong and not streaky.
I love mints, corals, and peaches for Summer.
For me, they just scream Summer Time and look fab with a tan!

I'm pretty much addicted to buying nail polishes, I pick up at least 1 every time I go shopping, so I wanted to share my all time faves for Summer!
:-)

(All products mentioned will be listed below)

^With Flash
(Left to Right- Wet N Wild "I need a RefreshMINT", Essie "Mint Candy Apple", Julie G "Bikini", Salon Perfect "Tickled Pink", Salon Perfect "Georgia Peach", Sally Hansen "Big Shiny Top Coat".

The Wet N Wild polish is one of my holy grails!  I own multiple polishes from this line and they all are super pigmented, apply easily & even, and last at least a week and a half without chipping.
(Price: Approx $3)

Essie MCA is a gorgeous shade.  Essie polishes aren't the best quality in my opinion especially for the price, but some of their shades are just irresistible, like this one!
(Price: Approx $9)

This Julie G polish is a beautiful neon coral shade with an adorable name, but sadly it chips VERY easily.  For the price point, it's lasting power isn't a huge disappointment and I can deal with it.
(Price: Approx $2)

Salon Perfect makes some super cute shades and lots of neons for Summer.  Tickled Pink is an everyday bright pink shade.
Georgia Peach is a new one I just picked up.  It's interesting because it appears different depending on lighting, but ultimately is a pretty & light neon peach shade.  SP polishes are a lacquer, which in my opinion, are stronger than a typical polish and are twice as hard to remove.
(Price: Approx $4)

I wanted to mention the SH Big Shiny Top Coat because it's my go-to top coat whenever applying polish.  It makes any color just really POP & shine while also speeding up the drying time.
(Price: Approx $4)

^With Flash
(Left To Right: SH Miracle Gel "Bare Dare", SH Miracle Gel "TopCoat", SH Miracle Gel "Get Mod", SH Miracle Gel "Tidal Blue".

I separated these 4 from the others because they're all the same brand.  I enjoy the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes and have quite a few of them.  Tidal Blue is probably my all time favorite from this line because it's the prettiest cobalt blue I've ever laid my eyes on.  These polishes last pretty well and apply great.  For the price, I think they're a good quality polish and live up to the hype.  Without the miracle gel top coat, I have found that they chip much easier and don't last as long compared to when applied with the suggested top coat.
(Price: Approx $8)

Well...
That pretty much wraps up this post.
I hope you guys enjoyed!!
As always, please feel free to drop any questions/ suggestions in the comments or in a private message (located in the NAV bar).
If you decide to try out any of these polishes, send me pics!

Also, let me know if y'all would like to see a polish organization post!

Get The Look | Glowy Skin Makeup Look

Hey y'all!
For today's blog post, I'm going to be sharing my favorite glowy-skin makeup look.
It's my favorite look for Spring & Summer and is simple to master.
All products will be listed & linked below per usual.
:-)

I started this look by self-tanning the night before.
I used my 2 favorite products by Million Dollar Tan, Cabana Tan Extreme FACE & Cabana Tan Extreme body.

I have a separate blog post all about my routine for self-tanning which I'll link below.
My self-tanning routine - Click Here
(I also have a discount code for MDT below.)

I think a subtle tan is key for a glowy look.
You can achieve this multiple ways..  Maybe you're just blessed with a natural sun kissed skin tone.  If not, and you're Casper's sister like me, you can self-tan, use bronzer, or even a temporary skin bronzer.  Million Dollar Tan offers one called "All That Shimmers".

Now.. For the makeup.

I started with my favorite BB cream of life, and possibly the only foundation-type of product I'll ever repurchase until the end of time...
The Garnier BB for Combination to Oily Skin in the shade medium/deep which is my "summer time shade" is the best ever!

I apply this with a pretty soaked blending sponge, it applies it flawlessly and is a sheer-moderate coverage.

A key step to having a glowy face, is illuminating it!  I love this liquid highlighter from Revlon.
For someone who isn't a grease ball like me, you could even apply this all over your face under your foundation or mix it into your foundation.
For me, I apply this over my BB Cream all over my cheek bones and a little in the center of my forehead.

Next, I used the Garnier Anti Dark Circle Eye-Roller as concealer under my eyes and on my lids to act as a primer.
I don't personally struggle with dark circles, but this concealer is one of my favorites and it lasts forever!

Once I've applied all of my liquid products, I set my face.
Gotta control my inner grease ball, y'all! lol
I either apply this with my wet blending sponge, or with a brush..
Either works fine.  The wet sponge is better if you want to "bake".
I also apply a little to my eyelids to set them and allow any eye shadow to apply better.

I apply the shades Naked & Buck into my eyelid crease, just apply add some dimension.
These are the 3rd and 5th shades from the left.
This step isn't totally necessary and you can skip it if you'd like.
OR, you can go all out and do a sexual smokey eye.

For bronzer & blush I've been loving my Benefit Cheekaton palette.
I typically bronze with HOOLA and then struggle over picking a blush.
I love mixing either Dandelion & Rockateur or Dallas & Rockateur.
Afterwards, you can also add a baked bronzer over the matte bronzer for even more GLOW.

For eyelashes, I like to apply the Voluminous Carbon Black and then Falsies Pushup Drama.
The Carbon Black will forever be my love, it's flawless.
Falsies Pushup Drama does what it says, it's pretty dramatic!
Darkens, fills, and makes them plush.
I find that it clumps easily though, so I usually brush my lashes out after to make them clean.

Last for face, I use Hard Candy's TIKI bronzer to even more so highlight my cheekbones.
#HighLightBling
Also, no clue why this is called a bronzer, it's definitely a highlighter.  Lol

Then for lips, just apply your favorite lippie combo.  My go-to lately is this Revlon lipgloss in Bellini.  It's so versatile for any season.
This works great alone or over almost ANY lipstick.

And you're done!!!!
This is the finished look.
Glowy & FABULOUS!
:-)

My Self Tanning Routine | Beauty Beginners

Today I'm going to be sharing my self-tanning routine, featuring Million Dollar Tan.  I mostly do this during the winter & special occasions.   First I'll be sharing some deets on the products I use and then some info on prepping and how to apply.
(A discount code will be below, because who doesn't love a good discount..)
Before                                           After

So when I am feeling like Casper's long lost sister, my go to self tanner is Million Dollar Tan Cabana Tan Extreme.  There's a few reasons this specific one is my favorite.  Since it's white there is no color guard, and no chance of color transfer on sheets, clothes, etc..  Which I love.  It gives a nice color, not orange, and no streaking.  I also have never had any real issue with it fading unevenly.  You can apply several "layers" to reach your more desired shade, I typically apply 2.

(All products will be listed & linked below.)

Pre-Tan Prep:
The number 1 thing that is a must prior to any self tanning is to shower, shave, exfoliate.
My favorite product for exfoliating is the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub.  It really gets rid of any dead skin or buildup you may have from lotions and such.
Next I shave..  Shaving is another form of exfoliating plus you want to limit the amount of shaving while you're tanned because it will shorten your tan's life because again, it's a form of exfoliating.
After that I just wash my body down with my daily shower gel on my loofah.

How I Self Tan:
After prepping my skin, I let myself air dry.  I apply a regular lotion to any extra dry spots (elbows, knees, ankles, wrists) this helps the self tanner to not cling to those areas and cause buildup which will likely turn orange.

Then, I apply my self tanner.  You can do it in any order you feel comfortable with.  I usually start with my legs and work my way up.

I apply 1 layer, allow it to dry, and then apply a second.  After doing my whole body, I apply 1 layer of the Cabana Tan Extreme Face to my face & neck.  I have the face formula version so I use it, but the regular body CBT can also be used on your face.
Once I have applied all of my layers I put on loose fitting clothes and continue on with my life for the next 4-6 hours.

Another before & after.

Products I Use:
The Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub (walmart, ulta, target)
Venus Breeze Razors (CVS, Walmart, Target)
TONE Moisturizing Body Wash (CVS, Walmart, Target)
Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion (Walmart, CVS, Target)

Cabana Tan Extreme Lotion
Cabana Tan Extreme FACE Lotion
All That Shimmers Dry Oil

(Use Code TERINTAN20 to receive 20% off your purchase!)
**Y'all, PLEASE do not share my discount code to any other sites, specifically coupon sites.  Otherwise, I won't be able to share discounts anymore. :-( **

I hope this helps all of my Dolls who want to be bronze goddesses.  I'll add a little FAQ below in case there's any unanswered questions y'all have.
Until next time, may the makeup Gods be with you.
XO,
Terin

Self Tanning FAQ:
Q:  Do I have to exfoliate?
A:  YES!  Exfoliating removes dead skin and other skin buildup so that the self tanner can apply evenly and give you the best color possible.

Q:  Should I lotion my body prior to self tanner?
A:  I don't..  It provides a barrier and will limit the amount of color you get..  Which is why it's also a good idea to lotion dryer areas prior to self tanning..  (Wrists, ankles, elbows, knees, etc)

Q:  Is self tanning better than a tanning bed?
A:  Yes.  Self tanning doesn't harm or age your skin the way that tanning beds would.

Q:  What's the difference between sunless tanners and self-tanners?
A:  They're the same thing!

Q:  Is the "All That Shimmers Dry Oil" a self tanner?
A:  No.  All That Shimmers is a temporary product that gives immediate color & highlight to the skin.  It will wash off when you shower.  (It can be used with/ on top of a self tan or alone.)

Q:  Does the Million Dollar Tan CTE have a scent?
A:  No.  The body lotion has no scent, but it slightly develops the typical self tanner smell as your tan begins to develop over 4-6 hours.

Q:  Does the Million Dollar Tan CBTE FACE have a scent?
A:  Yes.  There is a light fragrance.  To me, it smells like summer.

Q:  What can I not do while my tan develops?
A:  You can't get wet, sweat, swim..  None of that!  Or you run the risk of your tan streaking.

Q:  How long will my tan last?
A:  Results tend to vary..  Mine typically lasts 1 to 1 1/2 weeks.

Q:  What should I do to maintain my tan?
A:  Stay moisturized!  I limit my use of my loofah while self tanned and I moisturize everyday after showering.

Q:  How much should I use??
A:  As much as you want, girl! or guy..  The less you use, the lighter your color, and the more you use, the deeper your color.  I wouldn't go too crazy though until you're familiar with the product and the color it gives you.

(If you have any additional questions feel free to drop them in the comments or in a private contact form.)
