The Dream Team | How I Achieve Flawless Skin in the Winter

Hey Ya'll!  Happy New Year!!
So I'm sure with all of this crazy weather I'm not the only one who's skin
is freaking out.
Sooo with smooth skin in mind- I wanted to share my secret to
getting my makeup to look flawless during the winter months when I'm dry
as the Sahara.
Not today Satan, not today.

First things first- all products will be listed below and the
names are clickable links to said product.  πŸ˜‰

The first thing I do before applying any makeup is put on a generous amount of
my facial moisturizer, Garnier Gel Cream, and I let that soak into my skin
really good before moving onto anything else.
I also like to fan my face after applying this because it makes my skin feel
really cold, and I like it.  I'm weird like that.
Next up I put 2 drops of the Palmer's Face Oil on my
Real Techniques Foundation Brush then I apply that to my face.
Starting at my nose, chin, forehead, and under-eyes (my driest spots)
then working it outward onto the rest of my face.
Again, give that time to absorb and sink in good.

Once I've done those steps I squeeze about a quarter size amount of
my Garnier BB Cream onto my Real Techniques Sponge and then dab
it all over my face (forehead, cheeks, chin, nose) then slowly pat it into
my skin and all over my face.

No- I don't experience any issues with it breaking up or looking funky.
I do set my t-zone with a pressed powder (Neutrogena is my fave) and it
works like a charm!
If I didn't do this my makeup would cling and have so much texture.  Gross

I hope this helps any of you struggling with the winter dryness.
Feel free to drop any questions or comments below.πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

Terin

Coconut Oil: Worth The Hype?

So I'm sure by now we've all seen the ever so talked about Coconut Oil trend.
After seeing it mentioned on various social media outlets and hearing people rave about what a miracle product it is, I was convinced I needed to try it.

I researched the type you want to get for multi-purpose uses (Organic & Unrefined) and headed to Target!
I bought the Simply Balanced Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil, I'll link it below.
Simply Balanced is a Target brand and I don't believe can be found anywhere else.

So now that I am finished with my first jar and have repurchased another I feel I'm experienced enough to share my opinion.  Basically, I'm obsessed.
This stuff is AMAZING!
Everyone needs it in their house, bathroom, bedroom, EVERYWHERE!
It's a solid, but melts at 75 degrees and/or with your body temp.
There's a faint smell, it reminds me of an Almond Joy candy bar, but after a while you don't even notice it.

A few of my favorite ways to use it...  Moisturizer!  It absorbs after a bit and doesn't leave you greasy like most oils would.  I've also used it to relieve a sunburn recently and it helped a ton!
It's also said to help cellulite.
I tend to get texture under my eyes and when wearing makeup, my concealer clings to it for dear life, but not anymore!  I either apply some before bed, or a tiny tiny bit under my eyes after moisturizing but prior to applying makeup.  Seriously works wonders!
I have swapped this for my Bio Oil (which I have loved for years).  I apply it to my bikini area to soothe the skin after shaving, keep the area moisturized, and to prevent ingrown hairs.
It works just as well as Bio Oil, but better in my opinion and it's organic!  So it's more save to apply to those "delicate" areas.
I apply this to my lips when they're dry or cracked and it heals them up almost immediately.
I also use a little bit on my face from time to time to treat dry patches, and even a dry itchy nose from allergies.  I have combo to oily skin that tends to be very sensitive to new products ESPECIALLY oily ones, but this doesn't bother me AT ALL.  Maybe because it's organic??

I also briefly tried "oil pulling" which is the process of swishing this stuff around in your mouth for about 20 minutes; however, it gave me a migraine, which is common.

Coconut Oil combined with Dry Brushing (my other newest obsession) are total game changers in my opinion!
(If you'd like a blog on Dry Brushing, let me know!)

Other Suggested Ways To Use Coconut Oil:
-Cooking (replaces unhealthy fats and is a more natural cooking oil)
-Shaving/ Shaving Cream
-Sexual Lubricant (reduces chances of UTIs and various issues caused by regular lubricants due to it being completely organic.)
-Hair Treatment
-Eat 1-2 tablespoon a day to improve digestion, balance hormones, balance blood sugar, improves energy, burns fat, and helps lower cholesterol.
-Coffee Creamer/ Sweetener

Overall, I say Coconut Oil is a must in every household!
There's so many uses and benefits of this stuff.
Why waste money on so many products when you can wipe them all out with 1?!?!
It doesn't get any better than that, guys!

This post ended up being a bit longer than I originally intended, but it's because I am just utterly obsessed and wanted to share all of the awesomeness!!!

My Go-To Spring & Summer Nail PolishesπŸ’…πŸ½

Hey Y'all!!
So with Summer quickly approaching, today I'm going to be sharing my favorite nail polishes for Spring & Summer months.
For polish, staying power is #1 for me and #2 is a good color POP.
I always apply 2 coats of whichever shade I am using to ensure the color is strong and not streaky.
I love mints, corals, and peaches for Summer.
For me, they just scream Summer Time and look fab with a tan!

I'm pretty much addicted to buying nail polishes, I pick up at least 1 every time I go shopping, so I wanted to share my all time faves for Summer!
:-)

(All products mentioned will be listed below)

(Left to Right- Wet N Wild "I need a RefreshMINT", Essie "Mint Candy Apple", Julie G "Bikini", Salon Perfect "Tickled Pink", Salon Perfect "Georgia Peach", Sally Hansen "Big Shiny Top Coat".

The Wet N Wild polish is one of my holy grails!  I own multiple polishes from this line and they all are super pigmented, apply easily & even, and last at least a week and a half without chipping.
(Price: Approx $3)

Essie MCA is a gorgeous shade.  Essie polishes aren't the best quality in my opinion especially for the price, but some of their shades are just irresistible, like this one!
(Price: Approx $9)

This Julie G polish is a beautiful neon coral shade with an adorable name, but sadly it chips VERY easily.  For the price point, it's lasting power isn't a huge disappointment and I can deal with it.
(Price: Approx $2)

Salon Perfect makes some super cute shades and lots of neons for Summer.  Tickled Pink is an everyday bright pink shade.
Georgia Peach is a new one I just picked up.  It's interesting because it appears different depending on lighting, but ultimately is a pretty & light neon peach shade.  SP polishes are a lacquer, which in my opinion, are stronger than a typical polish and are twice as hard to remove.
(Price: Approx $4)

I wanted to mention the SH Big Shiny Top Coat because it's my go-to top coat whenever applying polish.  It makes any color just really POP & shine while also speeding up the drying time.
(Price: Approx $4)

(Left To Right: SH Miracle Gel "Bare Dare", SH Miracle Gel "TopCoat", SH Miracle Gel "Get Mod", SH Miracle Gel "Tidal Blue".

I separated these 4 from the others because they're all the same brand.  I enjoy the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes and have quite a few of them.  Tidal Blue is probably my all time favorite from this line because it's the prettiest cobalt blue I've ever laid my eyes on.  These polishes last pretty well and apply great.  For the price, I think they're a good quality polish and live up to the hype.  Without the miracle gel top coat, I have found that they chip much easier and don't last as long compared to when applied with the suggested top coat.
(Price: Approx $8)

Well...
That pretty much wraps up this post.
I hope you guys enjoyed!!
As always, please feel free to drop any questions/ suggestions in the comments or in a private message (located in the NAV bar).
If you decide to try out any of these polishes, send me pics!

Also, let me know if y'all would like to see a polish organization post!
