Top 10 for Dry Skin

Hey Hey Hey!!!
You read the title so you know what's going down in this post.
First though... Let's take a moment to admire the title. 😊👆🏼
Quite the clever gal, huh??
I actually made it up by complete accident when I was saving
my cover photo... Anyhow....
Let's get to the good stuff.

*Majority of these products can be found at your local drugstore
or Target (target is my jam)!
I'm all about affordability and accessibility.
(I just made that up also- I don't even know if affordability is a word.)

1.  Soap & Glory "The Breakfast Scrub"  -Click Here to Shop-
The smell y'all!  It's really the only reason I caved and bought it.
I don't care, it's the truth...  It's a really nice scrub though.
Pretty typical- gets rid of the dead skin and what not.
Oh did I mention how good it smells?

2. Tone "Mango Splash" Body Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
I've been using this stuff for YEARS.  Years on years.
Not sure about the mango- it used to be called coconut something
and it still smells exactly the same sooo yeah.
Anyways it's really amaze balls and super affordable.
I stock pile this stuff!

3.  LUSH "Ocean Salt" Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
Good golly miss Molly!  A part of me wishes the sales rep
at Lush had never given me a sample of this amazingness because now
my life cannot go on without it.
I only use this on my face but it is marketed as face + body- it does
wonders for my face!  It smells (and tastes.. is that weird?) amazing.
It has VODKA, limes, salt.. so basically it's a margarita for your face.
It exfoliates and tones and I swear it makes me a better person as well..
*Make sure you buy the original!  The self-preserving version has honey
and that's not so great on ya face trust me- I tried it.

4.  LUSH "Bubblegum" Lip Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
I have their "chocolate" lip scrub but I couldn't find a good stock
photo of that so here's the bubblegum! LOL
I imagine they all work the same.  This tiny jar will probably
last you at least half your life.  No joke.  It's an all natural
product so you can literally eat it if you want (which I do sometimes).
Don't judge me.
I love using this when I have chapped lips but also when I wear
liquid lipstick (before & after) because it helps prep your lips
and also helps remove all the leftover product that's hanging on for dear life
when you're removing your makeup.

5.  Palmer's "FACE" Skin Therapy Oil  -Click Here to Shop-
La la la la; do do do do do ohhhh.. Cause loving you has made
my life so beautiful.
I've mentioned this before on my blog..
I live for products that are great and affordable.
I apply this with a makeup brush to dry patches on my face usually before
bed and find that it really helps soothe dry or chapped skin.
I've also applied it all over my face and neck as moisturizer as
well as under my makeup during the winter.  It's a blue ribbon product.
*Fun side note..  I experienced some breakouts while undergoing laser
hair removal and this really helped!  It reduced the size, redness, and helped
get rid of them all together.

6.  Simple Moisturizing Face Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
So I got a sample size of this with my last re-up of my makeup remover wipes.
I assumed I wouldn't like it because I have pretty oily skin and feel the need to
exfoliate nearly ever day; however, I was wrong and I'm so glad I was!
I've since re-purchased the full size bottle of this and use it nearly every day
which is major because if you know me- I'm ride or die for my Garnier face
wash.
So the Simple brand is geared towards being "kind to your skin" it has
vitamins B5 & E and claims to cleanse throughly without being harsh.
All of which I believe to be true.  It's really cool because it cleans and
moisturizes my face without making me any more oily than usual.
It also has a faint fresh scent.  (Not clean cotton scent but just clean.) Love!

7.  Yes to Coconuts Lip Balm  -Click Here to Shop-
I'm coo coo for this cocoa balm!
Seriously..  It's the best chapstick/ lip balm I have EVER used
and I'll probably never buy any other product.  Immediately after
trying this the first time I knew I was in love and ordered 5 more!
It's constantly sold out at my Target (I think that says something).
I keep these things everywhere!  Bedside, purse, vanity, you name it!
It has a soft coconut scent and is SOOO moisturizing.
A huge bonus for me is if your lips are chapped it won't cling
to those dry areas and make your lips feel or look gross.  MAJOR
If you try nothing else off this list please try this..
Or actually don't because I already have a hard enough time finding this gem.
Lol

8.  Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Creme  -Click Here to Shop-
Another tried & true.  I've been using this stuff for years.  I love how
light-weight it is on my skin- feels like I'm bare faced.
The mint version is for "normal" skin and their pink version is for dry skin-
I've personally tried them both and don't see a difference between the 2 so obvi
I opt for the mint because it's my favorite color.
Girl logic.
No scent, the gel feels cool to your skin, and looks great under my makeup!
I ALWAYS apply this before doing my makeup- unless it's summer time
then I use a Clinique gel creme that controls oil.

9.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Gel  -Click Here to Shop-
So #9 & #10 go hand in hand.  Literally.
I mix them.  Talk about the DREAM TEAM.
When I'm feeling dry or even if I have a sunburn- I'll pump some
of the lotion into my hand then a squeeze of this gel (oil) and mix them in my hand
then apply all over my body.  AMAZING!
I have also used this stuff alone.  It's a bit heavy and will for sure leave ya greasy
so beware, but it's really good!!!
It's also a great foot treatment. Lol  I smother my feet in it and then put on socks.

10.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Lotion  -Click Here to Shop-
Again.. Hand in hand..  I use this lotion even if I don't use the body gel.
I apply this daily after I shower.  It never leaves me feeling greasy and doesn't
give me that heavy feeling that some lotions do.  I'm super sensitive to most smells
(which is why I don't really use specialty lotions from places like B&BW) and
I find that this isn't so over powering that I get a headache from it and after a while
I don't really smell it at all.  It also doesn't clash with any of my perfumes.
If you haven't noticed I live for coconut anything but if you aren't a fan
there's a lot of different versions & scents of this lotion so don't let that
keep you away.  😊

That's all y'all.. Omg again with the rhyming.
I hope you guys enjoyed & hope you can fight off the dreadful
dry skin this time of year!

Til next time...
XO,
Terin

Dry Brushing: Benefits & How To

Sephora Dry Revive Dry Body Brush $14.00 -Click Here

Okay, so Dry Brushing is a new addiction of mine.
I had never heard of it until recently, and it's ridiculously underrated in my opinion.
First of all, I LOVE to exfoliate.  My face, my body, exfoliate it all!
I dry brush everyday before I shower and have definitely noticed positive changes in my skin.
My skin overall feels softer, firmer, and I've noticed cellulite reduction.
So let me give you the 411....

What Is It?
Dry Brushing is the technique of using an abrasive brush to brush your dry skin prior to showering.
(You want to do it before showering so that you can wash the dry/ dead skin off)
Typically starting at your feet, working upward, and brushing in circular motions.
As you brush, you skin will most likely turn a little red, that's normal and a good sign.
Personally, I need to turn red and/ or it hurt a little to feel like it's doing something.
I'm weird that way.

What Does It Do?
Dry brushing majorly helps your lymphatic system.  It can improve circulation, tighten skin, reduce cellulite, release toxins trapped in the skin, and unclog pores.

What Do I Need?
All you need is a natural (not synthetic) boar bristle brush.  I originally started with one I purchased at Target; however, I felt the bristles weren't abrasive enough.  So I went and got the Dry Revive brush from Sephora and I am OBSESSED.
I prefer this brush vs others with handles and such because it's super easy to control and fits easily in the palm of your hand.

I hope you all enjoy this post and let me know if you decide to try out Dry Brushing!
As always, feel free to drop me any questions.

Til next time.

Terin

Coconut Oil: Worth The Hype?

So I'm sure by now we've all seen the ever so talked about Coconut Oil trend.
After seeing it mentioned on various social media outlets and hearing people rave about what a miracle product it is, I was convinced I needed to try it.

I researched the type you want to get for multi-purpose uses (Organic & Unrefined) and headed to Target!
I bought the Simply Balanced Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil, I'll link it below.
Simply Balanced is a Target brand and I don't believe can be found anywhere else.

So now that I am finished with my first jar and have repurchased another I feel I'm experienced enough to share my opinion.  Basically, I'm obsessed.
This stuff is AMAZING!
Everyone needs it in their house, bathroom, bedroom, EVERYWHERE!
It's a solid, but melts at 75 degrees and/or with your body temp.
There's a faint smell, it reminds me of an Almond Joy candy bar, but after a while you don't even notice it.

A few of my favorite ways to use it...  Moisturizer!  It absorbs after a bit and doesn't leave you greasy like most oils would.  I've also used it to relieve a sunburn recently and it helped a ton!
It's also said to help cellulite.
I tend to get texture under my eyes and when wearing makeup, my concealer clings to it for dear life, but not anymore!  I either apply some before bed, or a tiny tiny bit under my eyes after moisturizing but prior to applying makeup.  Seriously works wonders!
I have swapped this for my Bio Oil (which I have loved for years).  I apply it to my bikini area to soothe the skin after shaving, keep the area moisturized, and to prevent ingrown hairs.
It works just as well as Bio Oil, but better in my opinion and it's organic!  So it's more save to apply to those "delicate" areas.
I apply this to my lips when they're dry or cracked and it heals them up almost immediately.
I also use a little bit on my face from time to time to treat dry patches, and even a dry itchy nose from allergies.  I have combo to oily skin that tends to be very sensitive to new products ESPECIALLY oily ones, but this doesn't bother me AT ALL.  Maybe because it's organic??

I also briefly tried "oil pulling" which is the process of swishing this stuff around in your mouth for about 20 minutes; however, it gave me a migraine, which is common.

Coconut Oil combined with Dry Brushing (my other newest obsession) are total game changers in my opinion!
(If you'd like a blog on Dry Brushing, let me know!)

Other Suggested Ways To Use Coconut Oil:
-Cooking (replaces unhealthy fats and is a more natural cooking oil)
-Shaving/ Shaving Cream
-Sexual Lubricant (reduces chances of UTIs and various issues caused by regular lubricants due to it being completely organic.)
-Hair Treatment
-Eat 1-2 tablespoon a day to improve digestion, balance hormones, balance blood sugar, improves energy, burns fat, and helps lower cholesterol.
-Coffee Creamer/ Sweetener

Overall, I say Coconut Oil is a must in every household!
There's so many uses and benefits of this stuff.
Why waste money on so many products when you can wipe them all out with 1?!?!
It doesn't get any better than that, guys!

This post ended up being a bit longer than I originally intended, but it's because I am just utterly obsessed and wanted to share all of the awesomeness!!!
Lol

Hope y'all enjoyed!
