Top 10 for Dry Skin

Hey Hey Hey!!!
You read the title so you know what's going down in this post.
First though... Let's take a moment to admire the title. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘†πŸΌ
Quite the clever gal, huh??
I actually made it up by complete accident when I was saving
my cover photo... Anyhow....
Let's get to the good stuff.

*Majority of these products can be found at your local drugstore
or Target (target is my jam)!
I'm all about affordability and accessibility.
(I just made that up also- I don't even know if affordability is a word.)

1.  Soap & Glory "The Breakfast Scrub"  -Click Here to Shop-
The smell y'all!  It's really the only reason I caved and bought it.
I don't care, it's the truth...  It's a really nice scrub though.
Pretty typical- gets rid of the dead skin and what not.
Oh did I mention how good it smells?

2. Tone "Mango Splash" Body Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
I've been using this stuff for YEARS.  Years on years.
Not sure about the mango- it used to be called coconut something
and it still smells exactly the same sooo yeah.
Anyways it's really amaze balls and super affordable.
I stock pile this stuff!

3.  LUSH "Ocean Salt" Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
Good golly miss Molly!  A part of me wishes the sales rep
at Lush had never given me a sample of this amazingness because now
my life cannot go on without it.
I only use this on my face but it is marketed as face + body- it does
wonders for my face!  It smells (and tastes.. is that weird?) amazing.
It has VODKA, limes, salt.. so basically it's a margarita for your face.
It exfoliates and tones and I swear it makes me a better person as well..
*Make sure you buy the original!  The self-preserving version has honey
and that's not so great on ya face trust me- I tried it.

4.  LUSH "Bubblegum" Lip Scrub  -Click Here to Shop-
I have their "chocolate" lip scrub but I couldn't find a good stock
photo of that so here's the bubblegum! LOL
I imagine they all work the same.  This tiny jar will probably
last you at least half your life.  No joke.  It's an all natural
product so you can literally eat it if you want (which I do sometimes).
Don't judge me.
I love using this when I have chapped lips but also when I wear
liquid lipstick (before & after) because it helps prep your lips
and also helps remove all the leftover product that's hanging on for dear life
when you're removing your makeup.

5.  Palmer's "FACE" Skin Therapy Oil  -Click Here to Shop-
La la la la; do do do do do ohhhh.. Cause loving you has made
my life so beautiful.
I've mentioned this before on my blog..
I live for products that are great and affordable.
I apply this with a makeup brush to dry patches on my face usually before
bed and find that it really helps soothe dry or chapped skin.
I've also applied it all over my face and neck as moisturizer as
well as under my makeup during the winter.  It's a blue ribbon product.
*Fun side note..  I experienced some breakouts while undergoing laser
hair removal and this really helped!  It reduced the size, redness, and helped
get rid of them all together.

6.  Simple Moisturizing Face Wash  -Click Here to Shop-
So I got a sample size of this with my last re-up of my makeup remover wipes.
I assumed I wouldn't like it because I have pretty oily skin and feel the need to
exfoliate nearly ever day; however, I was wrong and I'm so glad I was!
I've since re-purchased the full size bottle of this and use it nearly every day
which is major because if you know me- I'm ride or die for my Garnier face
wash.
So the Simple brand is geared towards being "kind to your skin" it has
vitamins B5 & E and claims to cleanse throughly without being harsh.
All of which I believe to be true.  It's really cool because it cleans and
moisturizes my face without making me any more oily than usual.
It also has a faint fresh scent.  (Not clean cotton scent but just clean.) Love!

7.  Yes to Coconuts Lip Balm  -Click Here to Shop-
I'm coo coo for this cocoa balm!
Seriously..  It's the best chapstick/ lip balm I have EVER used
and I'll probably never buy any other product.  Immediately after
trying this the first time I knew I was in love and ordered 5 more!
It's constantly sold out at my Target (I think that says something).
I keep these things everywhere!  Bedside, purse, vanity, you name it!
It has a soft coconut scent and is SOOO moisturizing.
A huge bonus for me is if your lips are chapped it won't cling
to those dry areas and make your lips feel or look gross.  MAJOR
If you try nothing else off this list please try this..
Or actually don't because I already have a hard enough time finding this gem.
Lol

8.  Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Creme  -Click Here to Shop-
Another tried & true.  I've been using this stuff for years.  I love how
light-weight it is on my skin- feels like I'm bare faced.
The mint version is for "normal" skin and their pink version is for dry skin-
I've personally tried them both and don't see a difference between the 2 so obvi
I opt for the mint because it's my favorite color.
Girl logic.
No scent, the gel feels cool to your skin, and looks great under my makeup!
I ALWAYS apply this before doing my makeup- unless it's summer time
then I use a Clinique gel creme that controls oil.

9.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Gel  -Click Here to Shop-
So #9 & #10 go hand in hand.  Literally.
I mix them.  Talk about the DREAM TEAM.
When I'm feeling dry or even if I have a sunburn- I'll pump some
of the lotion into my hand then a squeeze of this gel (oil) and mix them in my hand
then apply all over my body.  AMAZING!
I have also used this stuff alone.  It's a bit heavy and will for sure leave ya greasy
so beware, but it's really good!!!
It's also a great foot treatment. Lol  I smother my feet in it and then put on socks.

10.  Vaseline "Cocoa Radiant" Body Lotion  -Click Here to Shop-
Again.. Hand in hand..  I use this lotion even if I don't use the body gel.
I apply this daily after I shower.  It never leaves me feeling greasy and doesn't
give me that heavy feeling that some lotions do.  I'm super sensitive to most smells
(which is why I don't really use specialty lotions from places like B&BW) and
I find that this isn't so over powering that I get a headache from it and after a while
I don't really smell it at all.  It also doesn't clash with any of my perfumes.
If you haven't noticed I live for coconut anything but if you aren't a fan
there's a lot of different versions & scents of this lotion so don't let that
keep you away.  πŸ˜Š

That's all y'all.. Omg again with the rhyming.
I hope you guys enjoyed & hope you can fight off the dreadful
dry skin this time of year!

Til next time...
XO,
Terin

3 Steps for a Flawless Complexion

Hey ya'll!
For today's post I wanted to share 3 easy steps to a flawless complextion-
with the help of some makeup of course.  πŸ˜‰
I strongly strongly urge everyone to have a good skincare regimen
in place because let's face it- there's some things that not even makeup
can help.  I think that skin care is paramount, with the right skincare
routine you could possibly take over the world and wouldn't even need
makeup to do so.
(I'll touch on that another day.)

Now for a good appearing complexion with makeup...
Ever heard "if you can't tone it, tan it?"
Well that statement is true about most things in life.
Life is just better with a tan and far more sexual.
So that my friends is where a good self tanner comes into play.
Personally, Million Dollar Tan is my favorite brand that I've tried.
My 2 favorite tanning products are their
Cabana Tan Extreme & Mermaid Mouse.
You can receive 20% off any order with code TERINTAN20

*My Self-Tanning Routine Can be Found HERE

Now once you've got yourself all sexified with your fake tan you can
add makeup to the recipe at any time.

My top 2 recommendations are as follows:
1. Color Correcting (as/ if needed)
*My choice pictured above can be found HERE
2. A good foundation/bb cream/cc cream & concealer
*My go-to products pictured above can be found HERE and HERE

For color correcting, you can choose whichever
products/ colors you like that apply to your trouble areas.
Each color helps a different problem.
I believe the concept is whatever the color is- it combats it's opposite
on the color wheel.  (Don't quote me though.)
There are multiple color correcting products on the market both high
end and drugstore, most are in a palette form and need a brush to apply
which is why I opted to share the Maybelline versions.
They're in a convenient twist up stick w/ an applicator tip. SCORE

Now if you are at all familiar with my blog you know
I am ride or die for the Garnier Oily to Combo BB Creams.
First foundation type product I ever bought and have it in every shade!
I try other things and sometimes mix Garnier with another product but at the
end of the day I always come back to my first true love.
With that- I use the Garnier anti dark circle eye roller.  I don't personally
feel I have dark circles (although I probably will soon) but I just love this
concealer.  The roller ball feels cool to the skin and the product itself is so
creamy and easy to blend.
True match made in Heaven if there ever was 1, but feel free to use whatever
you enjoy and feel comfortable with...

And that's all folks!
Afterwards go about the rest of your makeup however you usually would with
your favorite products or perhaps some new goodies you picked up..
Your choice.
Be sure to let me know your favorite tips & tricks for a
flawless complexion below.

I hope you all enjoy this post (if you don't I'll cut you).

Til Next Time....
XO,
Terin

Beginners Special Effects Makeup KitπŸ”ͺπŸŽƒ

1. Flesh Liquid Latex -Click Here to Shop-
2. Injury Stack Cream Makeup -Click Here to Shop-
3. Ben Nye Scab Blood -Click Here to Shop-
4. Ben Nye Stage Blood -Click Here to Shop-
5. E.L.F Makeup Brushes -Click Here to Shop-
6. Disposable Makeup Sponges -Click Here to Shop-
7. Morphe 35N Palette -Click Here to Shop-
8. E.L.F Liquid Liner -Click Here to Shop-

Dun dun dun....  Are you feeling scary? πŸ€‘πŸ‘»
Halloween is my absolute favorite time of the year!
I just love everything about it!  Scary movies, candy, special FX makeup, you name it!
Oh did I forget to mention the movies??!!
So with the greatest time of the year upon us- I wanted to share a quick beginners guide to special effects makeup and what would be good to have on hand that you can create just about any look with.
So here we go..

Liquid Latex:
There's a few options for liquid latex.  Usually you'll find the white version which is good, I typically buy the 'flesh' version because I've found that mixed with my foundation it appears much more realistic & wound-like.
You seriously can use this stuff for whatever your spooky little heart desires- creating cuts & wounds, attaching things to the skin, etc..  It's ahhhmazing!!!
*IF YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO LATEX DO NOT USE THIS!

Injury Stack Makeup:
I just purchased this recently and so far it's pretty good!  There's a few different themes for these stacks- they have vampire, zombie, etc.  I chose the basics because it's so versatile.
These are colors you'll use over and over again if you're a gore junkie like me.

Ben Nye Scab Blood:
As crazy as it sounds, yes there's different types of fake blood and yes it matters which kind you get.  I recommend having 2 which is why I listed 2! πŸ˜‰  I've tried a few different "scab" bloods but the 1 by Ben Nye is my tried and true.  The idea behind scab blood is that it's darker, it has clumps as if it's coagulated, and it adds dimension to your look.  This is on the thicker side, not super shiny, and will dry down.

Ben Nye Stage Blood:
Stage blood on the other hand- much more liquid / runny and brighter in color.
This 1 I have by Ben Nye smells like peppermint and is also safe to put in your mouth.    I usually will apply scab blood first  and them stage blood over top and around the wound or whatever I'm creating.    I typically apply both bloods with a q-tip.

E.L.F Makeup Brushes:
You're going to need makeup brushes!  If you don't already have some (or don't want to risk destroying them) I recommend the ELF brand just because they're so affordable in case if they get ruined.  Nothing worse than ruining a $10-$20 brush with fake blood!
The brushes I find most useful are the "smudge", "precision", and "blender".
I use these same brushes for creams and eyeshadows.

Disposable Makeup Sponges:
Any kind- it doesn't matter.  I grabbed my last pack at the dollar store for a buck.  SCORE!
The reason you'll want these is because LIQUID LATEX(not the only reason but the main 1).
Liquid latex ruins just about everything you put it on or use to apply it with- so don't use a brush!!!
I use these gems mostly to apply liquid latex and cream face paint.  They just make life easier and then I toss them.

Morphe 35N Palette:
You'll need some eyeshadows.  These are just what I always reach for since I already have them it makes more sense than buying something else.  It doesn't have to be this palette.  I've just found this 1 comes most in handy for me.  Anything you have on hand will do.  The main colors that will be useful are gray, black, charcoal, yellow, tan, brown, and red.

E.L.F Liquid Liner:
Whoever said liquid liner is just for your eyes clearly doesn't love Halloween makeup!
Again, recommending elf because it's so affordable!  If you have a different liquid liner on hand by all means use that if you want- if you need 1 this is a great affordable option!
This comes in handy for specific details.  Just makes more sense to use 1 product that's already so precise rather than using a shadow or cream then locating a precision brush, now doesn't it??  Totally.
Liner, face designs & teeth- it's great for alllll that!

And there it is ya'll!
My recommendations for building your fabulously scary special effects makeup kit!
All of the items I've listed are safe for your skin & such and can be removed easily with a makeup wipe.  Of course everyone's skin is different so it would be smart to apply it in small areas first to see how you react.
I hope this helps anyone who's interested.
As always leave any questions or comments below.

Til next time...

Terin
